Earth Child House, Alghero

The ‘Earth Child House’ is a site dedicated to house terminally-ill children and their families to enjoy a stay in close contact with nature. The aim is to give them moments of happiness in a harmonious place full of wonders.
The structure is built around the greenhouse, where children can re-discover the contact with the natural dimension from which the disease has taken them off.

Fundamental aspect that guided the design is the desire to maintain a continuity between the nature of the greenhouse and the surrounding landscape, expressed respecting the land and the existing buildings, in an effort to achieve a sustainable architecture, using local materials and studying the exposure and orientation of the structure.
